Effective date: June 16, 2026. This policy explains what Stepwise collects and how we use it when you browse the site, create guides, or manage a manufacturer workspace.
Information We Collect
We collect account information such as your name, email address, organization name, role, profile details, and authentication data. If you create or manage guides, we collect the files and content you provide, including manuals, images, 3D model files, guide steps, parts lists, product metadata, comments, and feedback.
We also collect usage and technical information such as guide views, ratings, API key usage, billing events, device/browser details, IP address, log data, and local identifiers used to keep you signed in or remember anonymous feedback.
How We Use Information
- To provide, secure, and improve Stepwise guide creation, hosting, catalog, QR, AR, widget, and API features.
- To process uploaded manuals, photos, and models into draft guides and 3D assembly data.
- To manage accounts, organizations, permissions, billing, credits, support, fraud prevention, and compliance.
- To analyze product usage and improve reliability, performance, and guide quality.
AI Processing
When you ask Stepwise to generate or improve a guide, uploaded files and guide content may be sent to AI service providers to extract steps, parts, warnings, answers, and 3D geometry. You should not upload manuals or files unless you have the right to process them through Stepwise.
Payments
Payments and billing may be handled by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Stepwise does not need to store full card numbers. Payment providers process payment data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Sharing And Publication
Draft guides are private to your account or organization. Published guides, catalog entries, QR links, embedded widgets, ratings, and public feedback may be visible to anyone with access to the public catalog or guide URL.
Service Providers
We may use infrastructure, storage, analytics, email, AI, payment, security, and support vendors to run Stepwise. These providers are allowed to process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
Your Choices
You may update profile and organization information from your account settings. You may delete or unpublish guides where your role allows it. You may contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational limits.
Security And Retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for account, guide, and billing data. We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain backups.
